Individual Lessons
One to one lessons for you and your dog. All capabilities of handler and dog are welcome. We have a variety of sheep, fields and equipment to enable us to assess and teach you and your dog new skills, or improve and develop those you already have. From docile training sheep, to flighty lambs or stubborn tups, we can sort out specific sheep to enable us to help you with specific problems or just general development as your capabilities as a team grow. Small and large flocks are available to train on. We also have a range of fields; small flat ones, gentle sloping hills with super visibility, or rougher fields where you will lose sight of your dog, and your dog will lose sight of the sheep. We can set up a trail style course if required and talk you through trial rules and etiquette to help you achieve the highest possible points next time you step on a competition course!
£40 per hour.

Group Lessons
Do you have a group of friends who would like to come with you? Or would you like us to match you up with others of a similar level to come to a clinic style group lesson? This option is obviously dependent on multiple people wanting to go for this option but watching other dogs train can teach you an awful lot. Its easy to miss things when you're "in the zone" running your own dog, or perhaps your current dog doesn't have the same issues, or respond to training techniques in the same way as the dog you're watching. Either way you can pick up many useful tips to help you notice the smaller details in your own dogs, or tricks you may need in the future as your dog develops or another dog joins your team. This option is also a lovely way to meet like minded people, discuss things and learn from each other!
Access to Sheep
For dogs that have been to some individual or group lessons with us, we offer access to training sheep without tuition if we feel you have adequate control over your dog and that your dog is at a level where it can work sheep without needing the backup of an experienced dog to sort out any muddles. This is a really useful option for those wishing to practice between lessons who do not have access to suitable sheep of their own.

De-Sheeping Training
This is for the pet dog owners, of both herding and non-herding breeds. We can assist you with desensitising your dog to sheep, developing your control and confidence around livestock. Although we do advocate that dogs are always kept on a lead around livestock, we appreciate accidents happen. Sheep may have escaped onto a footpath, they may not have been in the field the day before, or your dogs lead may break. For all of these reasons it is essential that you feel in control of your dog around livestock. Not to mention the fact your walks in the Yorkshire Dales will be a lot more pleasant if your dog isn't pulling towards every sheep it sees!
